Stones, Oils & Herbs

Frankincense
Spiritual Growth Essential Oil

Frankincense Essential Oil from Florapathics Frankincense is one of the most exotic of the essentials oils. Incisions are made in the bark of the Frankincense tree to produce a milky white resin that hardens into amber colored teardrops.

The essential oil is steam-distilled from these "tears" of the Frankincense Tree. We love using this oil in our sessions and attunements on various chakras, especially with the crown chakra, palms, feet and third eye.

It opens the crown chakra, is deeply relaxing, slows and deepens breathing, and is a suberb oil for meditation.

Psychologically, it has a calming effect, eases stress, fear and anxiety. Burn a few drops in an oil burner with a teaspoon or two of water to let the calming fragrance fill your home.

Frankincense is also excellent for skin care, in fact, so much that the Egyptians used it in their embalming procedures to preserve the skin for as long as possible.

In modern times it has been scientifically proven to stimulate healthy new skin cell growth. Mix a few drops in base oil, such as almond oil to make a great skin moisturizer, prevent wrinkles and rejuvenate skin tone. It is also used medicinally for colds and sore throat.

Frankincense Tree

For colds and sore throats try this hot compress:

*Put a few drops of Frankincense on the surface of water as hot as you can stand

*Dip a face cloth in the water so that it absorbs most of the essential oil drops

*Squeeze out the excess water

*Place compress on throat

*Cover with plastic and a hand towel on top to hold in the heat for as long as possible

*When compress reaches body temperature, replace with a fresh compress

Meditations, Incantations & Intentions

Joseph Cambell The Power Of Myth

Joseph Campbell

1904-1987

"All of life is a meditation, most of it unintentional."

Joseph Campbell was a life-long student and teacher of the human spirit and mythology--not just the mythology of cultures long dead, but of living myth, as it made itself known in the work of modern artists and philosophers--individuals who searched within themselves and their societies to identify the need about which they were passionate. He called this burning need that they sought to fulfill their bliss.

Joseph Campbell spent a lifetime searching, discovering, and bringing to others his unique understanding of mythology as it relates to the spiritual journey of the soul. Out of the vast and complex body of knowledge he gathered over his lifetime of studies, he summed up the formula for happiness in one simple "golden" rule: He said "Follow your bliss. Find where it is and don't be afraid to follow it." By this he didn't mean just do whatever you want without consciousness. He meant, find that thing that is at the core of your being; the truth that is yours, the thing that brings you bliss, fulfillment and rapture, your internal compass to true happiness and FOLLOW it!

"Now, I came to this idea of bliss because in Sanskrit, which is the great spiritual language of the world, there are three terms that represent the brink, the jumping-off place to the ocean of transcendence: sat-chit-ananda. The word "Sat" means being. "Chit" means consciousness. "Ananda" means bliss or rapture. I thought, "I don't know whether my consciousness is proper consciousness or not; I don't know whether what I know of my being is my proper being or not; but I do know where my rapture is. So let me hang on to rapture, and that will bring me both my consciousness and my being." I think it worked."

"...if you follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be."

Joseph Campbell

Discovering Your BLISS

Here we were going to put a meditation for connecting to your bliss, but then we remembered that LIFE is meditation.

So instead of making it more difficult, we'll keep it simple.

Take a moment and think about things you do or have done in your life. Discover what you already do or have done that has brought you happiness in life. For some, it might be snowboarding, or music. As you bring those things into conscious awareness, create ways to do those things more.

By giving yourself permission to do more of those things in your life, you bring more of that inspirational life energy into everything you do.

So, keep in mind the things that bring you happiness, and DO MORE OF THAT! You'll notice more of those things begin to pop out at you. It's like getting a new car and then noticing your same car all around you. Your joy has always been there, you just didn't have a reason to notice it. When you give yourself a reason, your bliss just stands out to you, easily and effortlessly.

Before you know it, you're living a BLISSFUL life.

Satoris & Kenshōs
Satori: A Japanese term for sudden intuitive enlightenment or spiritual awareness; an epiphany leading to deep spiritual experience.

Kenshō:
Seeing one's true nature or self, illuminating experiences escalating from briefer glimpses into the nature of mind, building to expansion and enlightenment.

YOUR Truth Will Set You FREE

Remember that old adage "The Truth Will Set You Free"? Growing up this saying confused me. It seemed like "The Truth" had as many angles on it as there were people. Even so, obedient child that I tried to be, I spent much too long trying to make the "truth" that other people gave me, fit for me.

After all, others with more experience must know what is best for me, right? So, I followed the rules I was given, tried desperately to maintain happiness and convince myself that I believed these "truths" for  myself, lived a life according to the "rules" that I had been told over and over would bring me happiness. I was told that if I tried long and hard enough I would finally achieve that state of bliss and just "be".

Somewhere along the way, I realized that something was terribly amiss. I realized that achieving the state of "bliss" and "joy" shouldn't have to feel like getting my eyes gauged out. One day I came across a quote by British writer Freya Stark, "There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do." This hit home.

An apple fell from a tree somewhere and hit me on the head. I began to seriously question if the program I had been running on all this time was the wrong operating system for my particular brain. Well, spirit is a funny thing. If something is not right, but your intention is to find bliss, and you are banging your head against a wall trying to make something else fit, spirit will continue to shake things up until you reach a crisis point and it finally gets your attention. For me, I realized that if I was truly going to be happy once and for all, I had better figure out what MY truth was, find a way to sit in the middle of it and just BE.

I realized that the things I THOUGHT I believed in must not be the things I really believe in right down to my core. So, with a whole lot of courage and divine assistance I began the amazing journey of digging down deep, removing and scrapping old broken barely functioning programs and finding and embracing the things that were right for me. No matter where you are on your path, ask yourself, is this piece right for me? No matter WHAT it is, no matter how many certificates the person telling you has on their wall, and no matter how many people are pressuring you to believe something as TRUTH. Follow the only truth detector that really truly works: YOU.

If it's not right for YOU it's not right for you. All along the way you will find pieces to pick up that help you have those "satori" moments.  With the assurance that all roads lead to home, follow your truth getting there and you will realize that you are suddenly happy, home, at peace and experiencing joy on your journey. Change that saying to "YOUR Truth and ONLY Your Truth will set you Free!" and follow your bliss!
