Dear Reader,
Las Vegas Life Coach, Reiki, Past Life Regression, & Hypnotherapy
Thank you for continuing to be a part of our amazing family. Heather and I love to stay in contact with all of our amazing clients and friends, and this is the best way to make that happen.

As always, we've been busy, busy little bees. The good news is that we've been helping even more people this last month release stuck or pent up emotions whether through Hypnotherapy (to help release issues stuck in the subconscious) or Cranio Sacral Therapy (to help release emotions stuck or stored in the physical body, sometimes long after they've been released consciously). This month has involved more Cranio Sacral work and still been partly focused on Dream Interpretation, understanding dreams and how they apply to our lives, as well as resolving past issues. We absolutely love what we do and everyone whose lives we touch.

A special thank you to everyone who makes each and every one of our mixers such an amazing experience! Our February mixer will be Sunday, Feb 27th @ 5PM.

It's been 6 years without any pricing changes, and this year we will be having a new pricing system. For everyone who has had a session prior to the end of January, we want to say thank you by keeping you at the same prices until the end of June. To offset our new prices, we are also implementing some new specials, deals, and bonuses. Be on the lookout for more details forthcoming.

Introduction

Moonstone as its name suggests is connected to the Moon, cycles and intuition. With a knowing that the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end brings us to the close of the old year and the start of a fresh cycle. Brings unconscious and subconscious to the surface.

The perfect "Dream Stone" it amplifies Lucid dreaming and enhances psychic ability; especially clairvoyance. Brings emotional calm and healing.

Especially calming and balancing for both male and female aggressive personality types. Brings more receptive qualities to the surface. Calming for hyperactivity.

Traditionally used to aid feminine related physical issues such as fluid retention, conception, pregnancy and childbirth. Also known to help with elimination of toxins, restlessness and insomnia.

Moving Meditation
Redefining Meditation

At some point in our lives we all find ourselves in a heightened state of Fight-or-Flight and realize we need to do something to lower our stress level. We suddenly remember that Meditation is a great "Stress Reducer". So, we put Meditation on the bottom of our To Do List and go about business as usual (Come on, you know you put it on the bottom) . This usually just adds to an already over-burdened schedule. Sometimes we get to it and sometimes we don't. Then, we get stressed out because we didn't.

Meditation is not something that should stress you out.

Force Creates Resistance

So, you try meditation for the first time. Focusing on your breathing, clearing your mind and wrenching your body into an unfamiliar yoga position. None of this feels natural to you. It feels forced and stressful. You might hyperventilate from all this deep breathing. You worry about whether or not you are doing it right. You might be missing the point. If the Lotus Position hurts don't do it!

Life Is The Meditation

Joseph Campbell often said that all of Life is a Meditation. One of the purposes of Meditation is just that; to achieve the state of Meditation in the rest of your life. In other words, to achieve the ability to move through life in a peaceful, fluid way, no matter what kind of stresses are going on around you. Meditation should not become a more efficient space to dump your energetic garbage into after you've pushed your adrenals to the limit in your daily life and you are about to explode, but to learn how to not have to.

Some of us just can't sit still. So before you try the more traditional meditations, try this Moving Meditation:

With the theory of Force Creates Resistance in mind, understand that your body knows what it needs to do to unwind itself. Sometimes when we force something new on our bodies it puts up a kind of subconscious body resistance.

In this Moving Meditation, you learn to both detach and become an observer to your releasing process, allowing your body to choose what it wants to do.

  1. 1.   Sit comfortably on the floor or a chair that will allow movement or stand in a comfortable relaxed position.
  2. 2.   Put on some music if you want. World music can be effective, as the body tends to tune into rhythmic, earthy sounds in a very natural way.
  3. 3.   Close your eyes and begin feeling the breath move in and out of your body. Don't FOCUS on it or over-breathe, just begin to notice your breathing as an observer.
  4. 4.   Listen to the music, notice your breathing and become aware of the sensations in your body. Don't analyze and force your body to move in the direction you think it needs to go, simply begin noticing subtle muscle movements guiding you in the direction it wants to go. Follow the movements instead of creating them in your mind first; allowing your body to do the guiding. Trust that your body knows what to do, allow it to unwind itself, releasing tension in ways that you wouldn't have thought of.
  5. 5.   Allow thoughts to float in and out, continuing to follow the movement until it naturally concludes itself. You may start out slow and suddenly find yourself creating larger dance-like movements. Your body will let you know when it is done.
  6. 6.   Come back to a point of stillness allowing your breath to bring you slowly back to conscious awareness.

De-mystifying Mysticism
Because I Said So!
(An excerpt from the upcoming book De-mystifying Mysticism )

Understanding rules and reactions

When you were a kid and a parent told you that you couldn't do a particular thing that you really wanted to do, like having a cookie before dinner, how did you react?

Little Buddha

Did you follow the rule, knowing intuitively it had a purpose that wasn't clear yet?

Blind Sheep

Did you passively follow the rule, feeling defeated and without recourse, questions or curiosity?

Frustrated, Inquisitive Child

Did you ask your parents what the reason behind the rule was and they just wouldn't give you one?

Looking For a Fight

Could you see the reason behind the rule but still secretly plotted ways to break it anyway?

Rebel Without a Cause

Did you believe the rule just didn't apply to you and so found a way around it?

Instigator

Did you believe the rule shouldn't apply to ANYONE and started campaigning for Cookies Before Dinner around the neighborhood?

Getting Answers and Making Choices

Did you ask your parents what the reason behind the rule was and they actually TOLD you and you GOT it? : "If you have that cookie before dinner you will be too full for those delicious Brussels Sprouts".

Chances are you fit into one or more of these categories, and somewhere in your life you probably still do.

Whole heated discussions could follow here on rules of society like not selling swamp land to little old ladies or rules that were put in place to keep your toddler alive, but lets go down a different road and see how we are still applying these reactions internally to ourselves.

Healing Self

In childhood we start developing methods of how we are going to react and adapt to things like rules and belief systems and how much of our personal power we are willing to give away in the process in order to fit in with the "pack". As we grow we take these methods with us. Some of them like Little Buddha help us expand and grow while some of them like Blind Sheep help us to sabotage our best laid plans. You probably recognize one or more of these methods operating somewhere in your life and relationships; including your relationship with yourself. As you read on, think about those areas where you are living from your truth and those that might need a little finessing. For example: "My communication with my significant other could use a little more Getting Answers and Making Choices and a little less Blind Sheep ."

Let's check in with ourselves and see where we are today:

Little Buddha

Did you follow the rule, knowing intuitively it had a purpose that wasn't clear yet?

Are you following your intuition even though the answer hasn't made itself clear? Sometimes we have to take a leap of faith based on which option feels right according to our truth filters before we have all the answers. By allowing the pieces to come in when you need them, takes the heaviness out of trying to force an answer.

Blind Sheep

Did you passively follow the rule, feeling defeated and without recourse, questions or curiosity?

Are there situations in your life right now where you are blindly following someone else's advice without running it past your own internal truth filters to see if it's really right for you? Do you just accept someone as an authority on your life simply because they have a degree or seem to just know more than you do even though it doesn't seem to quite fit? Do you feel helpless, defenseless, powerless and depressed, feeling like you can't do anything right? Do you keep taking other peoples advice and can't figure out why none of it seems to ever work for you? The advantage to these scenarios, from the Blind Sheep perspective, is that when things don't pan out, you have someone other than yourself to blame.

Frustrated Inquisitive Child

Did you ask your parents what the reason behind the rule was and they just wouldn't give you one?

Do you find yourself frustrated because someone can't or won't give you an answer or reason? Are you truly not getting what you need or are you exercising entitlement; blaming others for not delivering? Are you allowing this to become a point of blame and excuse for not moving forward? Are you holding back from others the same way you felt your parents were holding back the reason (love) from you?

Looking For a Fight

Could you see the reason behind the rule but still secretly plotted ways to break it anyway?

As an adult, do you find yourself reacting in anger or defensiveness out of habit because you just want to have the upper hand, even if you know the other person is right? Do you pick fights at work or cause conflict just because it makes you feel more powerful in some way? The way these things manifest as adults can be very subtle or very obvious. If you are up for the task, take a look at the motivations behind your confrontations.

Rebel Without a Cause

Did you believe the rule just didn't apply to you and so found a way around it?

This one can be tricky. On the positive side you could be looking for creative ways around a challenge. On the other hand you could be ignoring the fact that your moral compass is broken and you are creating ways to hide your extramarital activities from your spouse. Are you rationalizing your way out of ethics or are you finding amazing ways to re-create old ways of thinking?

Instigator

Did you believe the rule shouldn't apply to ANYONE and started campaigning for Cookies Before Dinner around the neighborhood?

Are you practicing the Art of Allowing in all areas of your life? Do you recognize that everyone is on their path and you can't walk it for them or are you trying to tell them what they want or what they should do? Walking in someone else's shoes for a while means having empathy and understanding where they are on their path without judgment and then being present for them in their process. It doesn't mean doing their work, processing their emotions or plotting out their life course for them.

Getting Answers and Making Choices

Did you ask your parents what the reason behind the rule was and they actually TOLD you and you GOT it? : "If you have that cookie before dinner you will be too full for those delicious Brussels Sprouts".

As souls, when presented with choices and possible outcomes, we feel more in control of the result regardless of the choice we ultimately make. Do we feel safe with ourselves and relationships to ask questions and get answers? Is there an honest flow of communication back and forth? Do we feel like we have the freedom to make choices and be supported in that choice whether we fall on our faces or not?

Personal Responsibility in Reaction

As we become more aware of why we react to certain things we can choose to stop acting and reacting from external expectations from others or internal expectations from ourselves that do not serve us in a healthy way.

This task is certainly not for the faint of heart but one that is worth pursuing for our continued growth and expansion.

So, now that you are more aware of where your reactions come from, pull out your old dusty rule book, see what fits and what doesn't, and recreate your reactions to better fit your Big Kid Self!
