Introduction

Mystic Blends are traditional formulas that are meant to enhance and promote the positive atmospheres for which they are named. These oils are hand blended and contain dried herbs for vibrational enhancement.

Mugwort has long been used to promote vivid, lucid, and prophetic dreams.

In addition to its use with dreams, Mugwort is associated with psychic powers in general.

Mugwort is considered a sacred herb of Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon, the hunt, and chastity, which gives it its scientific name. Because of this the plant is also associated with the Moon and young women.

If you don't remember your dreams Mugwort can help you to remember them. If you remember your dreams, Mugwort can help you to have conscious or lucid dreams. Conscious or lucid dreams are dreams where you are aware that you are dreaming and in full control of the situation. If you are consciously dreaming already, the plant can increase the frequency and control.

Clearing Your Mind With A Leaf?
2 Minute Meditation

It has been found that mentally visualizing any task before doing it is a highly effective method of improving skill, efficiency and quality of work. On the first day of drawing class in college, the professor sent us outside without drawing materials to find a leaf. We were to spend an hour just looking at, observing every vein, wrinkle and shadow and mentally drawing it in our minds. She wanted to impress upon us that our minds, not our brand new art pencils and sketch pads were the most important drawing tools we could have. Upon returning to the classroom with our leaves to do the actual drawing, we found that we were able to produce a much more connected drawing than if we had simply seen the leaf and began to draw it. Of course it is highly impractical to do this kind of exercise for every life task. So, what is the underlying method that is needed to develop the skill of achieving a more connected, efficient engagement with your life?

Simply spending the time to slow down for a minute or two a few times a week can re-wire mind connections; change the way you think and perceive, increase efficiency, discipline your mind and deepen your connection to everything around you.

Making Time

Find a quiet place where you will be undisturbed and focus on an object of your choice for two minutes only. Try to only think of thoughts related to that object. At first many unrelated thoughts and quite a bit of mental clutter will bombard your process. Observe these and let them go; bringing yourself back to the details of your object. You will be surprised at how much unimportant and largely unnecessary mental clutter has been getting in your way and how much these "junk" thoughts are controlling your thought process. In fact, they are not only unnecessary but have been bogging down the simple everyday stuff of life.

Think of this exercise like cleaning the windshield after a long time and seeing how crystal clear it suddenly is. Eventually in your two-minute observance exercise, less unrelated thought and mental clutter will break through and a clearer way of thinking will emerge. Before long you notice less distraction and more connection to whatever activity you are engaging in. Without the extra clutter, answers come more easily and you begin to think and problem solve in a more efficient way.

So start today; go outside, find a leaf, a rock or a flower, and spend two minutes connecting!

De-mystifying Mysticism
Life Lessons From Tortillas
(An excerpt from the upcoming book De-mystifying Mysticism )

Clean As You Go

Despite having a dollhouse-size kitchen, my grandmother or "Mamagrande" as we called her, was constantly cooking up some delicious traditional Mexican dish. One summer she taught me how to make flour tortillas. As you can probably guess; I got a lot more than that.

Through thick broken English she taught me the "Clean As You Go" approach. Instead of leaving all the cooking mess to clean up after the food preparation, she would clean and put away anything she used as soon as she was finished with it. Instead of being frustrated with the small space, she had learned to flow and adapt to it. The added bonus was that once the food was done and ready to eat, there was nothing to clean up. Food and life could simply be enjoyed without the added stress of things left undone in the kitchen.

Accomplishing More

In life as you do what needs to be accomplished in the moment with that task fully in mind you suddenly find yourself achieving much more than if you "put off till later". This sounds wonderful, and we all want to be in that flow but it seems like it is not always that simple to get in that zone and stay there. "Cleaning as you go", applies to all areas of your life but it doesn't do much good to clean up what you use in the moment if you haven't done the work of cleaning all the dirty dishes that have already piled up.

But It's So Hard

If you are handling life situations the way you think you should but things still seem to be difficult, you might not have cleaned your subconscious kitchen the way you thought you did.

Check The Sink

We collect destructive thoughts or "dirty dishes" in our subconscious from the time the first person told us some negative untruth about ourselves and we believed it. Because we may not have had the courage at the time to face those untruths, we filed them away in our subconscious to deal with later and our Conscious Mind forgot about them. The problem is, our Subconscious Mind remembered and continued running a background program in our mind that continued to affect our Conscious Life.

Clean Or Dirty?

How do you know you have old dirty dishes stored up in your subconscious you might have forgotten about? Look around in your life for negative patterns that keep repeating. Maybe you keep losing jobs, fighting with friends or attracting the same negative type of person. As you make a list of these scenarios, take note of the destructive traits or thoughts that might still be sitting like dirty dishes in the sink filed away in your subconscious. Keep washing those dishes until you get to the last one at the bottom of the sink.

A Job Well Done

How do you know when you are done? Well, quite simply, the negative scenarios that have plagued you through your life will begin to change. It will become easier to "Clean As You Go" when similar situations come up that before may have been stored as destructive thoughts.

Mamagrande taught me a lot more than how to make flour tortillas that day. She taught me a strategy that could apply to virtually all areas of my life in one simple metaphor. The simple strategy of cleaning as you go can give you the ability to adapt and be fluid to life and its challenges without collecting a lifetime of heavy mental baggage that gets in between you and living a balanced joy-filled life. Don't wait till the dishes are piled up to ceiling.
