Dear Reader,
Las Vegas Life Coach, Reiki, Past Life Regression, & Hypnotherapy
Thank you for continuing to be a part of our amazing family. Heather and I love to stay in contact with all of our amazing clients and friends, and this is the best way to make that happen.

With Mother's Day this month, we'll be bringing more on the Divinity of Nurturing. Doesn't matter if you're male or female, there is something to gain from this look into the softer side. It's insightful to take a look at some of the more gentle qualities in life, and apply that nurturing first and most importantly to ourselves as well as those around us As we are kinder and gentler with ourselves, and realize WE are the ones who always have control over how we feel, there can be gained a clarity from recognizing and releasing the old and rebirthing into a new perspective.

Beginning June, we're kicking off our Demystifying Mysticism Classes with a very special Mind Reading Made Simple, Full Day, Intensive Workshop. For those who were at our last Mixer, we gave a taste of what Mind Reading (AKA Billet Reading) is all about. June, we'll get hardcore with plenty of hands on (or should we say Mind's On) exercises.

Other classes to keep your eyes peeled for include:

Gemscents are a blend of natural essential oils with genuine gemstones that are meant to enhance and promote the positive atmospheres for which they are named. These oils are hand blended and contain gemstones with essential oils that bring out the natural qualities of the stones.

Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love and infinite peace. It is the most important crystal for the heart and heart chakra, teaching the true essence of love. It purifies and opens the heart to all levels, and brings deep inner healing and self-love. It is calming, reassuring, and excellent for use in trauma or crisis.

If you want to attract love, look no further than romantic Rose Quartz. Placed by your bed or in the relationship corner of your home, it is so effective in drawing love and relationships towards you that it often needs Amethyst to calm things down. In existing relationships, it will restore trust and harmony, and encourage unconditional love.

Rose Quartz gently draws off negative energy and replaces it with loving vibes. It strengthens empathy and sensitivity and aids the acceptance of necessary change. It is an excellent stone for mid-life crisis. Holding Rose Quartz enhances positive affirmations. The stone can then remind you of your intention. This beautiful stone promotes receptivity to beauty of all kinds.

Emotionally, Rose Quartz is the finest healer. Releasing unexpressed emotions and heartache and transmuting emotional conditioning that no longer serves, it soothes internalized pain and heals deprivation.

If you have never received love, Rose Quartz opens your hear so that you become receptive. If you have loved and lost, it comforts your grief. Rose Quartz teaches you how to love yourself, vital if you have thought yourself unlovable. You cannot accept love from others nor love them unless you love yourself. This stone encourages self-forgiveness and acceptance, and invokes self-trust and self-worth.

The Divine Path of Parenthood
Special For Mother's Day

A Simple System of Balance

This section is usually dedicated to some sort of meditation. Since Mother's Day is this weekend it was my intention to write something here about our Divine calling as parents as the title implies. However, I pause as I realize how different that path is for every one of us. I see my children now 18 and 21 years old, look back on where we have been and contemplate the meaning of that Divine Path for me.

The Path Doesn't Always Feel Divine

There are parents who raise their children together, are present at every soccer game and ballet recital and see them off to college in the typical traditional way you are probably picturing right now. But let's get real. That's no longer the norm. Some parents do not have the opportunity to raise their children for a myriad of reasons that could fill volumes. Emotions can run high on this topic from the parents all the way to the children; hearts are broken and blame is placed when situations are not ideal.

We can't really see into the hearts of others when it comes to matters concerning their children. Many times the people most adept at hiding heartbreak are parents. Ours is certainly not to judge. Sometimes the pressure of not letting the frayed seams show becomes too great and we see the human side of parents as they fall apart from trying to hold up the weight of the world.

Being a parent is the hardest job in the Universe (FYI: God the Mother and God the Father are parents) and our job is to do the best we can in the moment. So without casting stones or trying to analyze the motives of all different types of parents, let us just spend this day trying to nurture each other. Sometimes parents need parenting too. I think that is what Mother's Day and Father's Day are about.

The Mother In All Of Us

Some have the gift of their own children in this life and some do not, but all of us male or female have had the opportunity to mother or to be mothered. Kindness, nurture and support are all qualities of mothering. Whether or not you think Mother's Day is a cause to celebrate should not stop you from recreating the day for yourself and thanking someone for the nurture you received at some point in your life.

Take a few moments and think back at all the times you were nurtured, supported, had you hand held or were carried the extra mile. These are all moments when the Divine Mother stepped through someone to bring you a message of comfort and peace on your journey. Whether it was a friend, a sister, a brother, an aunt, a complete stranger or your own Mother. Take a moment, send some gratitude and wish them a Happy Mother's Day!

The Way She Sleeps Tonight

This is the way she sleeps tonight:

With arms out
And fists
Lips pressed toward heaven
Eyes closed
Lashes fluttering
Like black butterflies
In pink pajamas
A blueberry girl
Dreaming of the angels
Like workers in a marshmallow factory
On the billowy clouds of home

driving with sightless fingers
I grasp your hand; small, soft
thumb caressing your palm
I realize how really small you are

funny, I'd forgotten,
thinking you all grown up
with black boots and hat
bandana, pirate sword

my fingers squeeze your whole
hand, desperately wanting
to hold time in mine
you draw yours back in your child's way

tears running for want of time
the next time will your fingers cover mine?

De-mystifying Mysticism
Being Your Own Mother;
Healing From Abuse and Neglect

(An excerpt from the upcoming book De-mystifying Mysticism )

Mother's Day is this Sunday and continuing with that theme, this article again is on Motherhood. Mothers come in all shapes and sizes, temperaments and personalities. Some are challenging and some are easygoing and some are struggling with their own unresolved fears.

Wonderful moms are easy to write about.

But what about mothers who were not so easy, harsh, abusive or neglectful?

The world is filled with grown children of abuse and neglect. There are children whose mothers looked the other way when their child was abused by a spouse or boyfriend, children whose mothers abandoned them, children who have suffered loneliness and a host of other issues.

This article is not about calling for justice or changing the world or even about re-educating the abuser. It is about healing the child, grown up or not, and learning to forgive.

Becoming Your Own Mother

One woman who had tried for years to gain approval from an emotionally distant and non-approving mother complained to her older sister. She had become a newly published author with a book on the best-selling list and it greatly upset this woman that her mother had never bothered to read her book. This woman wanted approval so badly on a subconscious level that she had become a classic overachiever. Yes, she had become successful, but her sister recognized that part of her underlying motive had been to gain approval from their apathetic mother. She complained about this for a few minutes until her sister interrupted and said "She's not going to read your book and she probably never will. If you have pursued your passions solely for her approval then your motivation is wrong. You have to learn to be your own mother and your own driving force!"

As this woman told me her story I realized that this had been a turning point for her. At that moment she began living a completely authentic life driven by her own passions and not by her motivation for approval. She no longer worried about who would read her book and who wouldn't. In fact, simply by letting go of how she thought her relationship with her mother should be, she began to see her mother as a real person with real stuck emotions and issues.

Once she was able to let go of her own blocks she was able to start with her mother from where she was emotionally and allow the relationship to grow the way it needed to. This woman cried as she related to me how once she let go of the little girl that still needed approval, she was able to see her mother's own fear and pain more clearly. Their relationship grew deeper in a way she didn't expect, and ironically she became her mother's healer and "mothered her mother".

No matter what your relationship with your mother is or was there is wisdom and healing in the commandment:

"Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land." Exodus 20:12

How do you honor someone whose wounds you are still trying to recover from?

By taking a step back as an adult and honoring the path your mother walked with you no matter what her decisions or actions may have been at the time will help you begin to heal. Honoring, in this case, means allowing them to be where they felt they needed to be in that moment; whether or not we agreed with it and let it go. For some this seems like a very difficult thing to do. Yes it takes courage, love and Christ-Like forgiveness but it is worth the journey.

Our first relationship with someone outside of ourselves was our Mother or some Mother-Figure (even if your "Mother" or Primary Caretaker was male). It is not a huge intellectual leap to realize that the sense of trust and unity in your first relationship will affect all your relationships.

Trials and Jubilations

A series of experiments were conducted using weight-loss as a testing ground for the effectiveness of subliminal audio messages (Silverman and Weinberger). In these experiments the test group was given various subliminal audio messages to see what phrases would affect weight-loss in the most positive way. In the most successful test, the message that worked was "Mommy and I are one." The group given this message lost weight and continued to lose weight in a healthy way long after the test ended. The control group who had no message continued to struggle with weight loss. It didn't seem to matter whether or not the test subjects had a good relationship with their mother or not. The thing that mattered was that the message triggered "powerful unconscious wishes for a state of oneness with the good mother..." (Silverman and Weinberger). For this test group, subconsciously healing the root connection to the "Mother" somehow blossomed out from within to create healing in other areas.

So now we begin to see the wisdom in this directive from another perspective:

"Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land." Exodus 20:12

If you are trying to recover from the wounds of childhood it may be a great leap to say the words "Mommy and I are one". There is a great amount of healing to be done if we allow it. For many, the one-on-one relationship with their mother cannot be healed in this life. But, it can be healed with YOU. Nurture yourself; be your own Mother and be one with the Mother.
